The Deluge 2

The Struggle
The prosperity and security made Noah’s nation very proud and conceited; the elite group thought that no one could penetrate and discern the underlying lust for wealth and power which they were hiding.  The same group also thought that there could be no revolt from the oppressed class which they could not crush easily. In this unjust society, no institution was working properly; the whole nation was quiet and without a voice at every aggression.
The society was like a calm glittering pool of water when Noah came and created a ripple in the pond with his revolutionary ideas.  He dauntlessly declared that this world is created by one God and is run by His laws.  The oppressed class liked his ideas and some followed him.  The capitalistic leaders were against this movement; they challenged Noah and declared him a liar.
“We do not believe that God has chosen you to deliver His message,” they said. “You are an ordinary person like us; we think that you have invented this idea to show your superiority over us.  Why should God pick you to deliver his message?  He could easily send an angel to guide us.  Moreover, we have never heard of such an idea from our ancestors.   We are noticing that all your followers are menial uneducated people incapable of forming reasonable opinions; their foolishness is driving them to accept you as a leader.”
“God has chosen me as a messenger, given me the clear penetrating reason, and honored me with the revelation.  If you cannot appreciate this fact, no one can force it on you. I am not asking for any remuneration for my service. God is going to reward me for my work,” Noah replied.
“Do you really think that we, the leaders and elites of the nation, could join your movement and believe in what you are saying when we are seeing that your party only consists of menial workers?” the leaders said proudly.
“I am not bothered about the jobs my followers are doing.  Moreover, I cannot reject them simply because they are poor.  My God will never forgive me for such a callous action as neglecting a human being because he or she is poor.  I am sure that nobody can save me from His punishment for such an unjust action,” Noah said.
“What is going to happen if we do not agree with your analysis?” they asked.
“A great destruction and doom will seize you in its grip,” replied Noah.
“Instead of discussions and arguments why don’t you bring the doom for          us,” they said jeeringly.
“It is not in my power to do so,” said Noah. “But God will certainly bring it upon you according to His law of Mukafat (the logical result of one’s deeds, retribution), and it will not be possible for anyone to shake or avert it. In reality, your entire nation is slowly and gradually driven towards it.”
“Don’t you see he has gone mad? That is why he is always talking about destruction and doom.  Leave him alone for some time; he will come back to his senses.  What else is it but the madness that we are living a luxurious life and he is seeing nothing but destruction in it?” said some prominent leaders.
But soon they realized Noah’s love for his mission.  It was not madness but the mission which made him so reckless. The leaders threatened him: “Stop preaching your foolish ideas; we have given enough time to you to realize the dire consequences for this foolish activity.  If you insist on continuing it, we will kill you by throwing stones at you.”
“If you don’t like my preaching the laws of God, then do what seems proper to you.  My helper is God and I have full trust in Him.  You should diligently consider all the aspects of the plan you are making against me, collect all your helpers, show me no leniency, and wait for the result,” said Noah.
