Thamud 3

“Let us schedule another meeting to reckon with this issue for good.” They all agreed to this proposal and the meeting was adjourned.

The Meeting

(27- 46-47-48-49)

It is a dark, black night. No stars are visible. The nine members are coming to their meeting place. One of the most stone hearted member who was famous for conspiring against poor folks said,

“Let us swear among ourselves that we will adhere to each other whatever may happen than attack Saleh and his family members at night and kill them. In the morning at the time of investigation if asked we will swear by Allah in front of people and say that we don’t know anything about it. Moreover, we were not here at the time of murder.”

“This plan will not work now,” said a member who has not spoken so far. “I was with Saleh, we talked, and I told him that his presence is always to augur the worst for us. He and his followers, for no apparent reason, have spoiled our merrymaking. But we must keep in mind that he is always followed by a large group of people, we cannot attack him and remain unnoticed. He has given confidence to these common folks by saying that belief in one God and work according to his laws will bring great prosperity for them; reward them with flowing water, gardens, sons and wealth.”

  1. It is very harsh to try and kill Saleh. He did no wrong. I still find it sad how power corrupts people so badly.
